May 7, 2020 End-of-Year Calendar
The last student day of school for the 2019-2020 school year will be June 8, 2020. There currently is great uncertainty surrounding end-of-year activities for all grade levels but especially for the Class of 2020. It is our hope that end-of-year activities will be held in person as always. It is likely in our region of Pennsylvania, however, that some forms of mandatory social distancing will still be required. Plans for virtual and modified activities are being made. Updates will be provided to our students and community in the coming weeks.
April 29, 2020 SAT ACT Registration
Updated: 4/30/2020 6:45PM
Abington Heights High School will host SAT testing on August 29, 2020.
The following is from the SAT (College Board) web site:
If it’s safe from a public health standpoint, we’ll provide weekend SAT administrations every month through the end of the calendar year, beginning in August. This includes a new administration on September 26 and the previously scheduled tests on August 29, October 3, November 7, and December 5.
Students can register for these administrations starting in May. We’ll contact students directly during the week of May 26 to provide an exact date. Eligible students can register with a fee waiver.
For each administration, we’re preparing to significantly expand our capacity for students to take the SAT once schools reopen. We’re calling on our member schools and colleges, as well as local communities, to provide additional test center capacity so every student who wants to take the SAT can do so.
Students can get early access to register for August, September, and October if they’re:
- Already registered for June
- In the high school class of 2021 and don’t have SAT scores
For the SAT: Abington Heights Center Code 39200
Abington Heights High School will also host ACT testing on June 13; July 18; and September 12. Registration on ACT’s website is open now. ACT testing can be a good alternative to SAT tests.

Internet access can be a significant barrier in connecting students to school, especially during emergencies. Xfinity has opened its internet hotspots for free use during the current crisis. While it is recognized accessing these hotspots may not be possible in all of our municipalities, some residents and students may benefit. Xfinity has created a website with details including a coverage map to assist those wishing to gain access.
Low Cost Internet
Families that qualify can receive free internet for 60 days in their homes with subsequent payments of $9.95 per month through the Internet Essentials program offered by Comcast. Families can learn more and fill out an application by visiting the Internet Essentials website.
Those experiencing difficulty accessing the Internet should either email AHSDInformation@ahsd.org or call (570) 585-8252.
