Horizontal and Vertical Motion Test 2 Review
1. Solve hypothetical situations as described in #6 Test 1 Review. In addition, solve for the relationship between body "A" and body "B" when on a horizontal plane, given specified variables. For instance, produce a mathematical expression showing the relationship between the accelerations, given the relationship between the distances traveled.
Review similar situations between two bodies in motion, as done on the board in class:
(a) Body "A" and body "B" are both in motion, with body "A" moving three times the velocity of body "B". If both are brought to rest within the same distance, what is the relationship between their accelerations?
(b) Body "A" and body "B" start from rest and begin to move forward with the same acceleration. If the final velocity of "A" is one-half the velocity of "B", what is the relationship between their time of travel, and between their distance traveled?
2. Solve two "up and down" problems, where a projectile is shot vertically upward from a given point, reaches a certain height, then continues a downward path to a point lower than its original location.
3. Solve a "Superman" problem.
