Character education has long been a part of the educational scene, but interest in it is reemerging in light of our changing world. Character education integrated into the school community is a strategy to help re-engage our students, deal with conflict, keep students on task in the learning environment, and help students become contributing members in our community.

Throughout the school year, I will be facilitating classroom guidance lessons in grades K-4.  My main focus will be  The Six Pillars of Character.   Each month, I will be discussing a new trait.

Abington Heights has implemented the Don't Laugh At Me program in all of the elementary buildings.  Bully prevention is very important and I will be assisting our teachers and staff in educating our students on how to help each other and prevent bullying behaviors.  You can help us by continuing to teach the no bullying message at home. A great website to check out is Stop Bullying Now!
