Welcome to Abington Heights Middle School! We believe that all students can learn. We strive to provide every opportunity for maximum student achievement and to recognize and stimulate special talents in all students. We believe that education is a cooperative effort among home, school and community.
Due to our attention to and focus on our educational philosophy and vision, Abington Heights Middle School has been designated as a “Schools to Watch” from 2009-2012. We were re-designated as a “Schools to Watch” from 2012-2015. AHMS was selected by the National Forum to Accelerate Middle Grade Reform as excelling as a middle school in four main components: Academic Excellence, Developmental Responsiveness, Social Equity and Organizational Structure and Processes.
Within these four main components, 37 rigorous criteria are identified and are used as performance exemplars. The faculty and staff of Abington Heights Middle School use these 37 rigorous criteria as a rubric for self and program evaluation. We, as a faculty and staff, use these criteria to make sure that we are always striving to be the best middle school we can and also as a tool for consistent discussion and school improvement.
We are extremely proud to report that Abington Heights Middle School is only one of 300 middle schools in the United States to receive this recognition. Additionally, Abington Heights Middle School is one of only 21 other middle schools in the state of Pennsylvania to receive this recognition.
Please feel free to contact our middle school administrative team if you have any inquiries or questions. Our e-mails and phone numbers are on the left side of this page.
