9/07/2011 Day 1   Introduction to class. Pass out syllabus . Explain class expectations Classroom procedures, dress code, emergency procedures, absentee notes& excuses. Course of study ,course outline ,grading system explained &  1st. quarter project explained. Students are given a tour of the classroom and the lab set-up and storage areas are explained and shown.  See Mrs. Scolere for syllabus when you return to class.
9/08/2011 Day 2   Finish going over the syllabus for the Exploring the Art of Cooking . Demonstration of setting up the kitchen, and proper hand washing procedure. Discussion and walk through of setting up the kitchen for cooking lab. Students are divided into 4 groups and each group assigned a kitchen. Students will demonstrate the proper kitchen set up for a lab. While in the kitchens, students will be given 2 cleaning assignments to prepare the kitchens for lab.  
9/09/2011 Day 3   Safety procedures discussion and instruction. handout on safety .Walk through with the students the cooking lab preparation day procedures .Pass out the Market Order and the lab evaluation sheet Demonstration of preparing and do the laundry and placing towels/aprons  into the dryer. Demonstration of settings for white and colored laundry. Cleaning in kitchens.
